I just want the clarify that even with all new features, the “new” Apple TV will be the same as the current one. It will just be preloaded with new software and cheaper. That’s it!

Those 299 Euro are including 19% sales tax, while the US price is EXCLUDING sales tax.
So at current exchange rates, that comes out to 371 USD. Still nasty. But only a few weeks ago, it would have been only 325 USD.
Perhaps Apple will lower the price at the same time content finally becomes available in Europe and the Apple TV actually makes sense for European customers. It would make more sense from a marketing perspective, methinks.
